Morocco

I went to morocco wednesday night and got in at around 830. We went to our hotel and then wqlked around for a while and got some dinner. We ate lamb and bread. Then the next day we took a tour and this is the first thing we on the tour it is a mask. The people there are mostly muslim.

This is the square. They had snake charmers and different kind of things in the square. There were a lot of shops.

This was in the square. Some people had monkeys on a chain and would walk around trying to get people to take pictures with them. In morocco if you want a picture with someone you have to pay for the picture. So I decided to take a picture with a monkey.

We went to a museum during the tour and there was a room full of swords like these.

This was the chandeliers in the main room it is really huge and magnifacent.

This was at the museum. I really like all the artwork and how precise the whole thing is done. You can tell that the people who worked on this worked a long time on it. They used stencils to make this. They didn't have tools that did it for you.

This was in a musuem . It used to be inside a mask but the moved it into this musuem. I thought it was amazing because it had a lot of that stencil work that took forever. It is amazing what people can do with just a few things.

We went to a shop that sold scarfs/turbans. So the guy wanted us to buy a truban so he showed us how to put one on.

We took a carriage ride to the square and back.

We saw a mcdonald's there and thought it was cool that it was in english and arabic.

Terra mitica

One day we went to a theme park that was called Terra Mitica. It was really fun. I went with my two cousins and their friend, named Damien. It was a really fun theme park.

Missionaries

On friday, July 16th, I went with the missionaries to their teaching appointments and spent all morning and part of the afternoon with them. It was a great opportunity. I really liked doing that.

Madrid

After Toledo we went to Madrid. In madrid we went to eclipse (the third movie in the twilight series). Then we went to this palace off to the right. The palace is where the rulers and other head authorities meet and talk about important things.

Next to the palace was this cathedral. This cathehdral was really nice. It looked newer but it is an olld cathedral.

In madrid we went to the temple. It was an awesome experience. The temple was so nice and it was really cool inside.

Thats the temple all lit up at night.

Toledo

This was on our way to to toledo these windmills are in a famous story called Don Quijote (don key ho tay). Its about this guy who thought he was a knight. When he saw one of these windmills he thought it was a giant monster and started to attack the windmill. So those are the windmills in the story.

This is a gate into toledo. Toledo is a medival city tat is the capitol of swords and gold. There is alot of different sword shops and alot of gold bracelets and different things made out of gold.

Right behind the gate is this building. I thought it looked really cool so i took the picture of it.

When we were in toledo we took this train ride tour that showed us around toledo. This is one of the views we saw during that train ride.

This is another thing we saw during the train ride.

This is a door into a cathedral. I liked all the architectural artwork around the doors.

Also, when we were in toledo we went to a torture musuem. There was the guillotine which was used to chop peoples head off.

This is another of the torturing devices. The would set the person on the chair and the chair has really sharp spikes on it. They would then ask the person a question and if the person didn't answer the question they would push down on there leg or other parts of the body and the spikes would go into the part of the body.

The world cup

SPAIN WON!!!!!!!

This is a famous flag in spain it is called bandera de toro (banner of bulls.) This was after the game had ended.

More of sagunt

This is a Roman amphitheater at sagunt. They use to do plays here and the still plays here. Its been around for along time!!!!

This is a building that was added to the ruins. I really liked it so i took a picture of it.

This was a gate that looked really cool. Behind it was a cave that had the dungeonin the cave.

This is the cave that led into the dungeon. It was really dark in the dungeon so we couldnt get any pictures of the dungeon.

Hola de Espana!!!

Sorry I haven't been diligent on posting . I got here Saturday morning at 7:00 am and when I got to my cousins house I put my stuff in the room. I wasn't tired and greeted all my cousins and after an hour or 2 we went to the beach and enjoyed the sun. After the beach the second time jetlag started to kick in. Even though I was tired we watched the World cup: spain v. paraguay. SPAIN WON!!!!!!! After the game we went out side and we heard a lot of kids yelling espana repeatedly. We also saw some people lighting off firecrakers.

The next day we had church at 4-8 in the afternoon. It was so confusing!!!!!!!! After church we went to this American party where we talked and hung out at this really nice park.

Monday we went to the beach and enjoyed it there for a while.

Tuesday Kenzie, Cassie, and my Aunt Kirsten went to England until Friday night. Riley, Cade, Dana, Uncle Brent and I went to the beach and then we went to this great restaurant called Fosters. It was a place inside a mall named aqua. It was a fantastic place and I loved it!!!!!

Today, Wednesday, we went to these ruins in segunt. We hiked up to these old castle like buildings. We saw an ampitheater, Roman type buildings, the dungeon, and the main parts of the castle. Then we went to the segunt beach. Which was a really nice beach the water was colder than the water at the Valencian beach. The world cup: Spain v. Germany is on tonight. GO SPAIN!!!!!!!!!

Vamos a Valencia

Well, I'm sitting here at the Salt Lake City airport waiting to board my flight to Valencia, Spain! I'm excited about the chance I have to live there with my aunt, uncle and cousins for 6 weeks this summer. It's going to be awesome! Beaches, learning Spanish, a trip to Madrid, a trip to Morocco, EFY in Valencia (maybe). I'm looking forward to having a great time.

I'll update this blog from time to time and will add some pictures, too. Stay tuned. It's about time to board...look for updates soon.
